Tom If you come across them please post them. I was on the Mendelian staff for four years, working for Father Dodge. That in no small way got me into photography as a career.
From the Mendelian to the old South End Reporter, to the Daily Calumet, to Inland Steel Photo Sevices, to my own large commercial studio in Connecticut, to early retirement in Indiana! And it all started in that 2nd floor closet of an office in the North wing!

Yes I can scan items in.
Also I have made a set of the Mendelians and shrunk them to 8 1/2 by 11. There's a number of the alumni from the class of '70 who meet about once a year or so and I have made a copy of these Mendelians available to them.
Write me at:

and we can set up what you'd like to have done with these. |

We have plenty of room to store images on the website. Do you have a scanner where you could scan any number of them for this purpose?
The information matches what I heard they did with all their pictures and papers when the school closed. I was hoping a member here might have taken some of that up. |

I don't know for sure but they cleaned out a lot of stuff when they officially closed up. I went to the closing and they were auctioning off trophies and football jerseys. They placed thousands of pictures on tables in the chemistry/physics building and alumni were allowed to take whatever they wanted.
If it's any help, I still have almost all the Mendelians from when I attended (1966-1970). i believe that i am only missing two total from those four years. |

When Mendel closed, does anyone know if there were any archives of the school newspaper, The Mendelian, kept? Is so, where? |
